We had recently been given the opportunity to reupholster this beautifully ornate sofa sets, revived it, giving it a new lease of life.  The seats cushions are the first to go. According to the owner, the original seat cushions had a slightly dome shape. It was worn and the replacements he got doesn't fit the configurations. It was flat. Foam paddings around the frame had also lost its density. The fabrics were threadbare and some of the paddings were exposed, causing even more tears to the upholstery.  But instead of simply discarding it, he chose to have us reupholster it. A much loved sofa that had seen better day. Brown suede had stretched and back rest cushions were sagging. Looking for  a simple and effective way to cheer up the baby's room without burning a hole in the pocket?  "Jazz it Up" is your answer.  BEFORE - the entire room is too neutral. Even the curtains, which was originally white. Dear Friends, here's another project for us to "Jazz it Up" BEFORE - Too much brown on a big expanse, practical but not jazzy.  AFTER - Taupe Microfiber for seat and main frame helps lightens up the room, yet children friendly and compliments the floor rug.  Teal and Orange multi stripes add colors and pull in the red recliner on the side.    Notice the brown with teal floral print that was used as a throw from before? Well, waste no because we recycle it by sewing covers for throw cushions!  Verdict -  Sofa has new lease of life and we have a happy owner now. Need some jazzing up as well? Just remember  my very first assignment. Please excuse the bad resolutions cos at that time there was no iphone ;p This was taken more than 10 years ago. This Chesterfield sofa was bitten by a rottweiler.  Both owner and me felt that this is a dog with good taste for design cos the deep tufts of Chesterfield was never profound on a floral print. You don't see it! Ends result after we jazz it up definitely brings out the beauties of a Chesterfield!

 Serious, this is the work of a dog.. a small one too ;p   Maybe doggie thinks that this chair needs some spicing up... Afterall its always safe and fun to add some prints to single occasional chair. New Retro Look..

No kidding; you don't have to spend hours in a shopping mall to look for a new bed.  This sweet mummy gave me a call, requesting to "jazz up" an old daybed for her little boy.  I asked for a photo so that I can have a better idea of what we are talking about and gave a ball park quote. Next thing you know, I am on my way to their house with various samples and some borrowed color pencils from my new boy friend ;p One week later - Reupholster with durable, easy to clean synthetic leather most suitable for children's room. Contrasting color adds interest and livens up the room. We manage to "jazz it up"!

Have you ever wonder what goes inside your sofa? Why is it sinking and is it really value for your money? Here's a glimpse of the "inside story"... Story No 1 - Beneath the seat cushions This photo is taken off one of the sofa that we were assigned to reupholster. The webbing belt underneath the seat is responsible for the resilency and comfort of the sofa seat. A layer of foam is usually place over it. In this instance, the webbing belts are a bit too sparse and over time, the owner felt that the seat is sinking. To rectify the problem, we add a piece of material over the webbing belt before covering it back with the foam. This will gives additional support to the seat and eliminates the "sinking" feel that the owner has. Story No 2: Back of Sofa This is what we found when we stripped down this sofa. Check out these beautiful dining chairs! The original leather does not hold up well in this weather. And so the owner has chose to reupholster it, giving it a new lease of life. What is more interesting is the combination of 2 different fabric for the 10 chairs that they have. Well coordinated and definitely added more interest to the dining room!
